2/28/11

  1. Dan not waking me up when he got up this morning.
  2. Yellow rainboots, light blue floral vintage dress, pink belt, and purple leggings helping me combat the gloom of a rainy day.
  3. Attending a meeting with engineering where they engaged in vigorous debate over a feature design. Fascinating.
  4. Feeling like I caught up sufficiently by staying until 7:30, despite all the meetings that ran late today.
  5. AJ coming back to the office after having gone to the gym, after which we walked out together, which got me to the library just in time to return/pick up books.
  6. Just enough leftover risotto for dinner.
A year ago today.

2/27/11

  1. Helping LW set up her Nook before going out for brunch.
  2. Getting on the 2pm bus, which then arrived in NYC just about 4 hours later, no stops.
  3. Dan having dinner (tomato and sausage risotto) timed just right for when I got home.
  4. Watching the Oscars red carpet on mute to avoid the inane interviews and instructing Dan to let me know when a new dress came on screen.
  5. Finishing up the last disc with episodes from Doctor Who season 5, filling in the gaps to what I'd caught on TV previously.
  6. Didn't watch too many of the winners' speeches, but still enjoyed Tom Hooper's closing of "The lesson is, 'listen to your mother'" and Colin Firth talking about his head trying to tell his lower body to start dancing.

2/25/11

  1. Just making it to the 8:12 #64 bus after having to walk a bit more than Google Maps had originally plotted out.
  2. Taking a tour of the new 2nd floor with DRW and JA. The new floor is so neat, a lot of thought was put into its design. I was especially impressed by the tan carpet tiles with a swirly design to go with the 'beach' theme.
  3. Being able to help LB and SP on a few issues in person.
  4. Getting a haircut from Freddy at Zen Hair again! Love it, of course.
  5. Cobbling together a decent dinner from DC's pantry and freezer supplies of spaghetti with sautéed vegetables and spices.

  2. Despite constantly running around feeling a bit overwhelmed, managed to find time to file a couple different bugs.
  3. Particularly excellent chair massage from AS.
  4. Nice seats on the BoltBus and minimal gross bus smell.
  5. My phone holding out on battery charge as a source of entertainment to get through the boredom of the bus ride after not being able to fall asleep or do anything productive online from the incredibly slow connection.
  6. DC picking me up in her car. Made so much more sense for why she insisted on coming to meet me, and why she kept wanting me to go outside of the station to meet her.
A year ago today.

  5. Finally getting to get my eyebrows/upper lip threaded.
  6. Dinner at Eataly with AL and...AB! Who I haven't seen in years and years but is overall still very much the same, but cooler, as most of us have grown to be.

  3. Productive and efficient tour of the venue with our caterer and day-of coordinator, settling quite a few questions about the catering contract and where things will be set up.
  4. Also efficient tour of rental company's showroom to pick out linens (they have a new color, aqua, that's pretty close to the bridesmaids' dresses) and silverware and such.
  5. My mom being pleased to see me when I dropped off her hemmed pants and picked up the gloves I'd left behind last time and mail.
  6. Finally getting to finishing the one edge needed for the replacement orange polka dot tablecloth, finished off the denim skirt from class, prepared another vintage dress to be hemmed, and thread traced the muslin for the Crepe dress. Productive evening.

A year ago today.

2/19/11

  2. Wearing my handmade maroon shift dress out and about for the first time.
  3. The restaurant being mercifully close to the parking lot, as it was far colder and windier outside than I had expected.
