- The warmer weather of late melting away most of the snow on the roads and sidewalks, so that Dan could park his car really close by and we didn't have to leave for his mom's 50th birthday shindig until 12:30.
- Wearing my handmade maroon shift dress out and about for the first time.
- The restaurant being mercifully close to the parking lot, as it was far colder and windier outside than I had expected.
- Efficient shopping trip through Trader Joe's.
- Breaking out the fancy cheese, black truffle salt, and olive oil that I purchased yesterday for dinner of quinoa with poached eggs, chives, and cherry tomatoes
- Watching The Pianist and admiring its understatedness.
