11/24/11

1. Sleeping in until 10.
2. Going to see my grandma and hanging out with her.
3. Really good dim sum at the Dynasty Palace on Rt. 22--not from frozen stuff.
4. Getting bubble tea for the first time in a long while.
5. Skipping Thanksgiving hullaballoo and just having hotpot for dinner.
6. Going to the outlets that started opening at 9pm and helping my sister score a pair of Lucky jeans for $18.

1. Feeling like I got a full sleep cycle in after Dan left this morning.
2. Last of the carnitas for lunch and then discovering the dark chocolate pretzels in the pantry to have as a snack/dessert.
3. Working from the couch covered in blankets and my slanket.
4. Replenishing my cheese stock from The Cheese Store and finding a new favorite cheese in Midnight Moon.
5. Through my sister's friend, getting into the Fire Lounge and having an amazing view to a pretty exciting game ending in a shootout.
6. Not running into any traffic in the drive back to Hoboken and then on to Holmdel.

1. Scooping up scrambled eggs and avocado for breakfast.
2. Fun lunch with RC visiting.
3. SN running a bit late to our meeting so I had time to run out and pick up the last CSA fruit share.
4. My red Marc by Marc Jacobs bag that I bought off eBay arriving.
5. Getting a cab from the PATH station back to the apartment since it was so miserable out and I was carrying so much stuff.
6. Microwaving the corn tortilla from Trader Joe's working out quite well to heat them without drying them out at all.

1. Avocado actually getting replenished while I was grabbing breakfast.
2. PH visiting for lunch!
3. Discovering the smores with homemade thick graham crackers in the newly re-opened cafe.
4. Grabbing dinner at the office with plenty of time to make it up to the show.
5. Having a good time at the Radio City Christmas Spectacular, with all its cheesiness. Good family fun.
6. Finishing my mom's cowl and giving it to her.

1. Coming up with the idea to put Dan's old nightstand in his closet so that we wouldn't have to get rid of it and he would have the additional storage space he's been wanting.
2. Sitting down with Dan and hammering out a new and more detailed monthly budget for next year.
3. Cleaning the apartment going faster than I thought it would.
4. Unexpected set of Indian-themed gifts in the mail from MS!
5. Making carnitas for dinner.
6. The burning on my face from accidentally wiping my hands that had been handling sliced hot peppers eventually stopping.

1. Sleeping in until 10.
2. Skyping with CP, currently in Azerbaijan.
3. Finally getting rid of the last of the wedding stuff (milk glass cake stands) by dropping it all off at Salvation Army.
4. Dan being patient as I ran around Ikea trying to find the various sizes of Ribba frames that I needed.
5. The new coat tree from The Container Store being pretty easy to assemble and fitting pretty well behind the round chair.
6. Ikea cinnamon bun warmed up in the microwave with a cup of ginger tea.

1. Not being too late for my first meeting of the day at 10am what with staying up late the night before.
2. Grabbing lunch with MF, EM, and MG.
3. A meeting I was dreading a little turning out just fine since we didn't have to focus on the metrics too much.
4. Picking up some meat from Dickson's Farm Stand for the weekend.
5. Dinner of apple slices and cheese.
6. Starting and finishing Enchantment by Orson Scott Card and quite enjoying it.

1. Plenty of scrambled eggs and avocado left still when I got in at 9:35, so I could have  rather leisurely breakfast and read.
2. Working out of the massage chair for a stint.
3. Finding the actual Steven Alan part of the Steven Alan sample sale and admiring the workmanship, even if I didn't find anything to buy for myself.
4. AJ having a coupon for me to use on a sequined dress from Express for the holiday party.
5. This New Orleans pizza joint that AJ led us to having slices that really hit the spot after all that shopping.
6. Staying up late to finish reading Sunshine by Robin McKinley because it was so addictive.

1. BB being really happy with her cowl.
2. Delicious pork belly at the reopened cafe on 8th.
3. Cobbler cutting me a deal on a 2nd attempt to stretch out my red Tsubo shoes...if it's not enough after this time I will have to give them away, just about half a size too small.
4. Picking up a whole new set of books from the library.
5. Going to the barbell class for the first time in awhile and getting 133lbs. as my front squat 1 rep max.
6. Catching up on last week's Once Upon a Time episode On Demand.

11/15/11

1. 11am meeting ending early due to technical difficulties so I had time to go grab lunch.
2. The yarn for my mom's cowl arriving rather earlier than expected as well, given that we'd just bought the yarn on Friday. It was from a store that offers to wind up your yarn for you before they ship it too, quite brilliant.
3. Getting dinner at work with EM, AJ & co.
4. Calling CP to catch up, I hadn't talked to her since the wedding! And I may go out to visit her in the spring some time.
5. Finishing BB's cowl already...that was really fast.
6. Finishing watching the rest of the How the States Got Their Shapes original TV special in order to return the DVD to the library tomorrow.

11/14/11

1. Getting lunch with MF, EM, and ST and talking about how architecture school really does seem to be the worst thing ever.
2. Particularly excellent shiatsu massage with AS. We also talked about various healing strategies for dealing with the onset of fall and winter.
3. The yarn for BB's cowl coming in the mail already, when I wasn't expecting it until Tuesday.
4. Deciding to attempt the WOD from CFH on my own since the timing didn't work quite right to make it to the gym for an actual class.
5. Cooking up a Dickson's Farmstand burger (80% beef, 20% bacon) for dinner, along with green bean salad and remaining turkey burgers.
6. Really good and long talk with EN about life and relationships. It's nice to have a sympathetic ear.

1. Finding enough stuff in the fridge to make omelets for breakfast.
2. Getting good service when I brought some watercolor prints to get framed.
3. Figuring out the mysterious cheese from a few months ago was most likely a Gouda, thanks to the friendly cheesemonger at the Garden of Eden giving me a few different samples of some really good aged Goudas.
4. Dan agreeing to get this coat tree I found from The Container Store that I like the look of and actually has a pretty small footprint.
5. Spending a few hours fabric shopping online to use this 15% off coupon.
6. Despite a few mistarts, successfully re-applying the newsprint fabric back to one of the chairs using a starch mixture (I had taken it off to wash it because it had gotten a bit dirty).

1. Surprisingly productive afternoon, cleaning the apartment and doing laundry.
2. Dan retrieving the laundry loads out from the dryer for me.
3. Catching up on a lot with MB while walking around Hoboken and checking out the new park.
4. Finally visiting the sewing studio and yarn store in Hoboken. Tightly packed spaces but very cute.
5. Figuring out how to crochet a slipstitch around the neck of my teal sweater to prevent it from getting even wider.
6. Going out for Italian food at a BYOB place. The tomato sauce for my pasta had incredible tomato flavor.

1. Avocado bagel for breakfast.
2. Dan coming for lunch since he had the day off.
3. Grabbing time with JE to clear out the inbox pretty well.
4. Going for a long walk up and down the Highline with MG.
5. Getting a text out of the blue from MB who's in town and wants to come over to Hoboken tomorrow, yay!
6. Dan helping me move the coffee table again in order to put additional rubber matting underneath the new carpet configuration, which also allowed me to get up on a stool and clean off the dust on the ceiling fan. So gross!

1. Grabbing a quick power lunch with BB since neither of us had much time.
2. Attending a webinar on fabric run by Colette Patterns.
3. Getting some really touching peer review feedback from people whose approval I've been working really hard for.
4. Really open talk with MG initiated by her. It was a very brave thing for her to do.
5. Deciding to go back to the office for my coat when it wasn't quite warm enough out to go home without it. Still, it's been unseasonably warm this week.
6. Spending the evening talking over various things with Dan.

2. A whole bunch of morning meetings being canceled.
3. Finding sushi being available for lunch when none of he other options seemed very appealing.
4. Checking things off my to do list for the day without needing to stay very late.
5. Dan reminding me about Psych being on and so I watched another hour of mindless TV.
6. Going to bed relatively early for the week.

1. Taking photos of the recent finished knitted cowls to post to Ravelry.
2. Surprisingly warm day out, high of 70. Fine with my jean jacket and not a full-on coat at all. 
3. Lunch with MG and EM.
4. Pulling it together to focus for a couple hours on learning to pull some metrics
5. Finding the acne products section at CVS, even though it wasn't in the skincare aisle.
6. Not taking forever to do the dishes leftover from yesterday.

1. Putting together an outfit with blue ikat dress, gray long-sleeved t-shirt underneath, gray leggings, and brown lace-up boots.
2. Quick and smooth running of errands after work: tailor, returning extra skein of yarn to the Lion Brand store, library.
3. Being able to turn off the smoke alarm while standing on a chair with the use of a wooden spoon to extend my reach.
4. Pulling a loaf of bread out of the oven and hearing it crackle like in Ratatouille.
5. Remembering that I'd frozen the meat sauce leftovers before going to Boston so could pull it out to defrost for dinner tomorrow.
6. Vegging out in front of the TV for the evening.

1. Making it to my bus in plenty of time, thanks to the B line actually running rather quickly.
2. Going for the salad when the bus stopped at Arby's.
3. Sleeping for most of the bus ride back from Boston since the power outlet in my row of seats wasn't working.
4. Having CS and PB over and showing CS how to hem her pants.
5. Dan making risotto for dinner.
6. Putting out the chevron rug from Overstock that Dan picked up from FedEx earlier in the day into the living room.

1. Really sleeping in, until past 11am.
2. Getting to talking to one of the alums who made a big change in his career direction after getting a PhD in science, he was pretty easy to talk to.
3. Picking up some good photos of us during the France trip. We look so young!
4. Getting back from going to Target and Shaw's before anyone arrived at DC's place.
5. The make-your-own pizzas going over quite well and LW seeming to have a good time for her birthday.
6. Finishing up knitting the blue cowl for my mother-in-law while watching Once Upon a Time through On Demand with DC.

11/4/11

1. Dan waking up early to go to the PATH station with me and help me bring my luggage along.
2. Inconsistent internet connection but not missing out too much on work stuff.
3. Getting to the Boston office in the afternoon and still getting a good amount of work done in those few hours.
4. Realizing that EN and JR would be going over the alumni dinner from Cambridge as well, so met them in Central Square and shared a cab with them.
5. Seeing JT and others at the cocktail reception and dinner.
6. Running into a couple guys who helped point me towards the shortcut to get to DC's place, saving me a lot of walking with the luggage.

1. Blocking out my purple cowl in the morning to approximately the right measurements as specified by the pattern.
2. Parents coming by to pick me up and give me a ride to Flushing.
3. Managing to work pretty normally for the day with the wi-fi at the tennis center being pretty good.
4. Watching my sister pull of some nicely played points.
5. Going out for dinner of soup dumplings with the family and my sister's tennis coach.
6. Dan letting me draw a face on his big toe.

1. Bread, cheese, and an apple for breakfast at home.
2. Running errands on the way to work and finding that the library had more books than I expected waiting for me.
3. Finding that my work laptop fits inside my Mod Green Pod tote bag.
4. Coworkers at dinner encouraging me to send back the overly salty duck confit.
5. Finding a Hojiblance Intenso olive oil at the Filling Station that has a nicely strong flavor.
6. Managing to carry all my bags of stuff home without stopping too many times.

1. Getting to the office on time for the 9am meeting.
2. All of the items on my shortlist being reviewed during the planning meeting.
3. SH conducting herself well during our Stage 1 career conversation where I may have dipped too much into therapy territory.
4. Finding some fluffy blue yarn to make a bulky cowl for my mother-in-law.
5. AQ helping me rip out the bind-off and top few rows of the purple cowl because I missed the directions in the patterns to purl a row before binding off.
6. Nice red wine at dinner that didn't have much of that bitter tannic flavor, a Malbec.

10/31/11

1. Getting to the office before 9--still late for the 8:30am meeting, but not too late.
2. Canceling a meeting in the late afternoon so I had an uninterrupted block of time.
3. AJ coming by to show off her engagement ring!
4. JW mentioning the blockades around 6th Ave., reminding me to look up where the Halloween parade was going and therefore deciding not to go the library since it was probably closed early for the parade.
5. The tailor seeming to have figured out the right alterations to make a nice red coat that my mom gave me look much less 90s on top.
6. Finishing off my two favorite cheeses from the class (the Comte and the Roquefort) as a dessert plate of sorts.
